Working at Halff: Q&A With Interns
Wondering if Halff is a good fit for you? Hear from our interns to discuss their experience at Halff.
Which practice, team or department are you interning with this summer? What made you choose that focus?
“Currently, I am with the MEP department, specifically the mechanical department. The reason why I chose it is because it’s a very hands-on area. You’re able to design on CAD but you’re also able to go on site to make observations. I think it’s really cool to see your projects develop from beginning to end.” – Juan Garza, MEP, 2024
“I’m with the water resources team. The reason why I chose it is because I took a fluid dynamics class where I had a really amazing professor who got me interested in it.” – Mason Royal, Water Resources, 2024
What is one thing you’ve learned during your internship at Halff?
“I have learned so much AutoCAD. I had no experience before this summer and I have learned so much. I’m actually taking a class next year!” – Sadie Krupa, Land Development, 2024
“I have learned a bunch of things during my internship at Halff. However, I would say the big one is how the signals in traffic lights talk to each other and how that area works with the fiber optic cable.” – Sydney Marchand, Transportation, 2024
What has been your favorite part about your internship at Halff?
“Definitely my team. They’re amazing people who have taught me well throughout my time here as an intern. They’re always willing to help and go the extra mile to help me succeed here at Halff.” – Sebastian Martinez, Transportation, 2024
“The people. Ever since I came in they have been very nice and welcomed me with open arms. Any questions I’ve had, they’ve openly answered them without hesitation. For sure that’s what makes me want to get up and come to my internship.” – Juan Garza, MEP, 2024
